Easy Pear Crumble

We had an abundance of pears on our trees this year, so we got a little creative in the kitchen to use them up! I have to give credit to my Dad for this one as he came up with it from inspiration on Pinterest. I’m always so thrilled when family and friends go the extra mile to make their cooking creations Gluten and Dairy Free for me. Also love that it uses coconut sugar! Such a fun seasonal dessert that could be adapted to suit a variety or different fruits and seasons too!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 500g/ 1lb. Pears

  • 1 Cup Rolled Oats

  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp Coconut Sugar

  • 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Peel and chop pears into bite sized pieces and boil in water with 2 tbsp coconut sugar.

  2. In a bowl combine together the oats, cinnamon and maple syrup until well combined.

  3. Place pears into a greased baking dish.

  4. Add the oat crumble mixture on top of the pears, patting it down to cover the dish evenly.

  5. Add the crumble to the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden.

  6. Serve as is or with ice cream, whipped cream or pouring cream. Enjoy.
